- That's part of the tradeoff for living in those areas, and it's always been so. The only solution I can see is that areas with low population densities get a small clinic of 1 doc, a nurse or 2 and an emergency phone line to the nearest hospital with a helicopter.

- They will once a system is put in place to pay back there student loans for medical school if they sign a contract to accept medicare over some set timeline, say 15 years. Payments will need some re-structuring and of course this will in no way be perfect. There will be problems, and lots of them.

- Single-payer government run healthcare is already helping. We're finally seeing the most crooked industry next to oil actually doing something that might turn out positive. Though it's still a bad idea.
